Title: Do I look normal?
Post by: opimisme2022 on November 25, 2022, 06:58:45 AM
Hi guys

this is my first post in this Forum, but I've been visiting and reading frequently during last 2 years.

Can you please look at the attached picture, and tell me if you feel it normal?

The crease in your pants makes it look like you have long af femurs and tiny tibias but could just be how your pants creased that day.

Agreed. Additionally, you look leggy AF. Also, because of angle of holding camera and arms not entirely straight seems like arms a little short. However, you do NOT look bad, just not normal proportions. Also, without the crease in pants and if arms straight you'd look normal-ish. If this is your post LL pic, then you should be happy. You traded a little bit of odd proportions, no biggie, for greater height. A trade off that usually is a big win overall. If you have not done LL, then my suggestion is only consider tibia and Humerus LL. If you did Tibia LL only you'd likely look leggy to the point of it looking bad. Long arms can help overall look when very leggy with below 0.50 SHR in my opinion.

You look long-legged.  So do a lot of other people who didn't get LL though.

People on this forum are pretty much trained to notice leg proportion anomalies. Ask some trusted and sincere friends or family. To me, the femur is too long compared to the tibia. Remember that when you ask "am I normal?" we literally LOOK FOR FLAWS. If people are not analytically eyeing you down they probably don't notice.

Im going to give you an honest opinion.  No, it does not look normal.

How much and what did you lengthen?

EDIT: nvm, 99% sure this is edited by looking at the reflections.

Hey man,

No, this mock up doesn’t look good, the legs are just too long compared to your upper body.

How much did you lengthen your legs in this mock up? I’m guessing 9+ cm’s

I think you are right, actually the pants crease are right below my knees, I attached a photo with marks on my knees. I think the crease made my femur look much longer than my tibia (it is longer, but as that much)

Does this make any difference in your judgment ?

Thanks

Actually I didn't do any surgery yet, that's just a photoshopped picture with 8-9cm added in femur.
Regarding considering Tibia instead, actually my Tibia is 3-4cm longer than my Femur, so adding 8-9cm to my Femur, would make Femur 4-5cm longer than Tibia. But I'm still comparing, so feel 100% sure about it before taking the decision. I have attached a photo showing where my kneed actually are (above the pants crease), please check it and let me know if that makes your judgment any different.

It's just a photoshopped photo, I didn't do any surgery yet, just trying to see how I would look, I'm considering 8cm in Femur (My Tibia is 3-4cm longer than Femur)

I think you are right, I just used photoshop and just assumed the length. I have added 8-9cm in femur (My Tibia is 3-4cm longer than Femur), also note please that the jacket is short, while usually I wear jackets that cover my waist. which might make the legs look a bit shorter.
Do you recommend a better way to do an accurate mockup?

Thanks

So it's photoshopped basically showing how you'd look post LL and your knees are higher than the crease made it appear. Hence, my view is you'd look pretty normal just very leggy but normal enough femur to tibias. Your plan to LL femurs 8cm is a good one in my opinion and if you go to a safe doctor I think you'll be very happy. Good luck on your LL journey.

I’ve never done a mock up. However, their is a channel on YouTube called height journey and that guy will show you how to a proper mock up. I suggest that you have a look if you are interested. The result might be cleaner.

First of all, your tibias aren‘t longer than your femurs. That‘s really basically impossible in any normal person. You probably measured from foot to top of the knee, which is not the tibia length.

Second of all, yes, the difference knowing where your knees are is big. If your knees are where the pants fold you do look uncannily odd. If the knees are where you marked them, you look perfectly normal

It is incredibly hard to tell because you have big bulky pants which contrasts your jacket that is much smaller in comparison. Also the camera angle is not in the right spot, look at other mock-ups to see where you should position it. If you are comfortable I’d retake the photo in just shorts or boxers, it’s kind of awkward but it will be a better representation of your proportions, as well as fixing the camera position and angle.

I wish I could give an opinion but it’s genuinely impossible to tell in this photo. And keep in mind how hyper fixated people on this forum are on proportions. In real life there are tons of people with way longer legs and no one cares. I’ve also been on this forum for a looong time and seen probably 50+ mock-ups. I’ve never seen a femur lengthening under 10cm that looks bad.

regarding Tibia to Femur, maybe you are right. I will measure them later at a clinic.

Thanks

Actually I took photos with boxers, but took this with casual clothes because that's how people in public will see me usually.
