No joke. But i have seen a lot of peoplpe measuring their selves in the mid of the day . With separated foot and dont getting as straight as they can. So people that says that they were of my height has been one inch or more taller than me

Lol. Sounds like how I used to dress when I went to parties and social events! :P
Now I just embrace my height until I can get LL. I measure myself standing straight as possible with my feet together. My height at a given time of day fluctuates by around 2CM though, which I find strange. Maybe it depends on how much weight I've carried on the day of measurement.

I stand as straight as I can against a wall. Then using a pencil, I mark where the top of my head comes to. I measure from the floor up to that point with a tape measure.
I'm exactly 5'10 in the morning. Measured myself now (end of the day) and I'm 5'9.5.

I have a height chart on a wall. I stand in front of it and hold up a mirror to see how tall I am.

I use a thin book with a hard cover so its perfectly 90 degrees from the top of my head to the wall. Keep the book in place (mark it if u want) and measure with a tape.

I measure about 4 hours after waking up, against a wall, standing as straight as a soldier, barefoot, standing at 173cm (therefore at least 175cm with shoes)
