I'm assuming I can train upper body (correct me if I'm wrong) even during lengthening with the Precice nails, obviously using a walker to move around from machine to machine. But would it also be possible to train your legs soon after consolidating/full weight bearing? Or is it a dumb idea?

After you are done lengthening then you need to work out your legs in order to be able to walk again

I think you shouldn't train your upper body during lengthening. Your body suffered a major injury and is already undergoing trememdous growth in your legs. You shouldn't take resources from them just to get your pecs swole for a few months.
You can work out your legs as long as you're under the weight limit for the nails + whatever bone you have in there. Many doctors recommend working out your legs even during lengthening.

But maybe you'd recommend strenghtening upper body muscles before surgery to help in mobility afterwards, no? (Stronger arms for crutches, dorsals and lumbars to moving in the toilet, in and out of bed, and sustain more time in the bike, etc...Not worth?)

Sure, that's a good idea.
