Title: Do you get mad like me thinking being disabled somehow better than being short?
Post by: Bournelli on November 04, 2021, 04:49:26 AM
I'm not here to project too much negative emotions onto anyone else but step by step my unique points of view that losing one single arm, suffering from acromegaly, living under the torments of leukemia and etc are all better than being short, are getting and getting into shape. And now I've permanently insisted on this weird idea.
Cuz discriminations and inferiorities are in some ways more horrible than pains and disturbances from some diseases and disabilities although being short in some countries resembles disabilities and that's why I came up this stuff.
Srsly I wanna sacrifice my metabolisms and incretions for a good height and I can't tolerate limitless tortures my height is bringing to me.
Especially for those men under 160cm or even 155cm, I wonder why they can't achieve any pensions, walfares, caregivings, and etc. like decent disabilities, cuz IMO they are living a very very terrible life, nearly in all of aspects.
If this post is offensive then I'm sorry, but I'm just ranting. I don't think disabilities are always the worst.
In addition, I pray for lord that one day men under 160cm can obtain abundant pensions like $2k per month cuz they are even tensed up while just strolling on the streets, shopping in the grocery and hanging out in a campus, etc.

It's unfortunate but this is how it's going to be in society. Short men will be treated as sub human and always ignored, we are the most inferior in society. Societal hierarchy looks like this in my opinion "Attractive Men>Attractive Women>Ugly Women>Ugly Man". Ugly men will always be at the bottom in all societies, if you are 165cm and 10/10 looks but because of your height that is reduced to 4-5/10. That's why most of us are here, to redeem ourselves and get taller so we can be treated better by society and prevent discrimination because society does not like short men.

You guys really gotta chill out, these kinds of posts have been becoming more and more frequent  here. Sure, being short sucks, but would i rather be physically disabled or chronically ill. Absolutely not. You guys really gotta find a hobby or get a job that your passionate about and remain positive. Being short is not the end of the world. I’m 5,5 In Germany, so I know what I’m talking about.

So if there are two buttons: One is Pakinson's Syndrome with a 6'2 height and the other is a sound body but with only 5'0 height, will you press the latter button?

Yeah, even men with one arm or one leg are not suffering from so much discriminations like short men. I really wish before my birth I could have opted for being disabled with only one arm or poliomyelitis for a lifetime instead of being only 5'4. Now everytime I take a stroll on the street my anxiety disorder will break my heart.

I am really not sure if you are serious and don't want to offend you by calling you incredibly immature or much worse, but PLEASE STOP. I refuse to answer your question. But try to check if I'm mad!

Is it possible that you don't understand that your post is the worst, more discriminatory, bullying, disrespectful thing that short people like me have received,  heard, felt, or read since months or years ago?!!

 In THIS forum???

I am "those" 5"00! Not only you make that comparison with Parkinson but you explicity imply that Parkinson is "better"?? Or being amputated??
I am not a dwarf  so fortunately don't have associated diseases, but Short Constitutional Stature, which is a condition,  not a disease or medical abnormality / handicapp. With less 4 cm I would get the surgery for free. But I couldn't avoid height neurosis and suffer a lot despite for example having had 3 girlfriends before the "nervous breakdown" (ie, "despite" that).

By the way if even without understanding very well I respect people here with 5"9 that want to be cut in half and spend 100kUSD to be 6"2, I was hopping that being 5"00 I (WE ALL that have less than 160/165 cm and seem so rare here, I really winder why...have we lost hope? Are others than me not satisfied with the limited amount of height that LL xan bring?). I think we, with CSS (2 or more standard deviations or in the 2,3 % of population of the same sex)deserved some solidarity or at least that people think before writing.

I'm 5'4" and used to be 5'1".  I have always been attractive regardless of my height.  Yes, you are on the bottom of society but only "literally" *LOL.* since you're shorter than most men.

HOWEVER, REMEMBER THIS:   You do not have to be the "Bottom of Society" at anything else.   It is NOT your CHOICE to be Short. but it is your CHOICE to be on the "Bottom of Society". Choose wisely.

This can be your story, below. It's mine.

I am VERY SHORT but I'm also...

VERY SMART
VERY GOOD LOOKING
VERY GOOD PERSONALITY
VERY FUNNY
VERY CONFIDENT
VERY IN STYLE
VERY INTELLIGENT IN BUSINESS
VERY ATHLETIC AND STRONG
VERY KIND TO PEOPLE
VERY WEALTHY $$  8)

If you only define yourself by what is lacking; then it doesn't matter how tall you are...you'll never be happy.  Place emphasis on your upside.  Go get CLL to add a few inches and maybe order some footwear that boosts you a little bit more.  Work on all the other things that you DO have CONTROL over and stop obsessing on what you CANNOT CONTROL.

I promise you'll start to be a winner.  I am living proof that you can be a happy, wealthy, and attract woman and for God sakes, I'm only 5'4" and I was just as great as 5'1." YOU CAN LIVE AN AMAZING LIFE! I promise you that.

I'm on your side.
All the Best,

IFS

That's an absurd post. No, it's not better to be disabled than short.
Actually, one of the good things I've got from my LL experience, other than the height, was to respect and understand the suffering of disabled people because I had to use crutches of almost a year.
It's amazing how we take for granted our ability to reach and move in certain places that are simply out of reach to a disabled person.
Be happy and grateful you are healthy, even though you are short.

is being disabled somehow better than being short?

This is clearly a quantitative (not qualitative) dilemma.
Almost everyone would trade a toe for jumping from 160 to 190 cm. Almost nobody would trade a leg for additional 5 cm.
Everything else is somewhere in between on the scale, and it strongly depends on personal goals.

In addition, almost nobody is using his full athletic potential, and would happily trade some of it, knowing that it would be never used otherwise.
