Title: I want to do this procedure with Paley
Post by: blacksheepwall on January 25, 2018, 07:36:25 PM
However, I will be most likely doing it alone (100k saved up). No support from anyone. Is this possible? How difficult will it be? And does anyone know of experiences stories where the patient did it alone?

Just ask the staff at Paley Institute, they'll be more than glad to help. Surely you're not the first to come across this obstacle. Once you find out, let us know here in the forums so that others can learn too.

As you're aware there are numerous diaries for Dr. Paley, so you could reply in those threads or PM the authors. Even if they had help with family, maybe they met someone there that was doing it alone.

I did LL with Paley. It will be really tough to do LL alone. First 2 weeks you definitely will need to hire help to help you with basic stuff like getting you food/etc. Your mobility will be extremely low. However after that it's possible to do stuff alone but extremely difficult. Even small things like opening doors is hard. Cooking will be almost impossible.

In top of that this is very mentally taxing. Paley highly recommends that someone stay with you.
