I just finished my surgery. The same time yesterday, a nursey came my room gave my hip a shot, I do not know what it is. But my head starts going crazy. What happened if I get disabled. What happened if I could ever walk normal, should I do the surgery or not? If I stop the surgery will I be regret when I get old? I keep asking my DR that what happened if they hurt my nerves, the DR keep smile says they had 1000 surgeries. there only three patients had never damage, but it's curable. He keeps smile told me I have to think positive way, I need to free my mind, everything will be fine. But I am still scared hell, I start prey, hope everything will be fine, I need think positive, after my surgery, I will wear pretty jeans pretty dressing, nobody will call me shorty again. Girl, do not be chicken

nerve damage is not common if your surgeon is at least average capable, the worrying thing for you should be equinus.

Good luck to you in your recovery. Think ahead and think positive. Keep up with your physical therapy exercises. Hopefully you'll be wearing those pretty jeans in the months ahead.

My surgery start at 7pm on December 20th after my roommate. She ask me record her surgery time, she spends two hours in the operation room yesterday. Now she is crying, because they just force her to start use the walker. Her whole face turn to red, full of tears on her eyes. She tried, but it's too painful for her, I lought at her, she is little embarrassed. But soon, they ask me to walk too. I am glad they gave me some painkillers before I start walk, the pain is managementable, but I still need take a deep breath on every steps. The nurse ask me how's my feeling, I says great. But in my heart, I really do not want to try it again soon, if they ask me walk more, I think I will cryed as same as a babe.

To be fair she's 150 cm, and as you know CLL is a personal choice. People have been calling her shorty, and she didn't like
it. I'm sure that's only the tip of the iceberg.
Many males have argued on these forums about how CLL might affect athleticism, but let's face it: most of us won't become pros even without doing surgery. If she's worried about scars, there are scar removal creams and additional smaller surgeries that can help with that. A small price to pay for being taller.

By the surgery time.They gave me a hat and ask me take all of clothes off, I was so embarrassed, I ask my DR if I can keep my underwear and bra, he says yes. Two assistant are preparing for my surgery. One lady gave me a intravenous injection, after that she ask me squat on the bed, but she is speaking Russian and I do not understand. Sooner they called my DR khaled, he show up and told me huge myself like a bady, because the female DR is going to shot my back. DR khaled pressed me told me to relax, there is nothing to worry about, I am a bady now for them. I loughted. About 7:20, DR bagirov came and waved his hands too me, he says he will make a small frame for me that I can hide the under my pants. At 7:30, DR Khaled ask me if I want sleep and I says I want keep my head clean, because I want to make sure that all of my legs will operation by DR bagirov.

Avoid so much lengthening if you don't want to walk on tiptoes for your rest of your life or walk like a creep by doing atl.
Also, 8cm longer tibias in a tiny 1.50 body will look ridiculous.
Do at max 6cm and you'll be ok.
If you want more do another 5cm on femurs. Everything more than 6cm on tibias will be disastrous for you, bith physically and aestheticaly.
After all no matter if you are 1.56 or 1.58 you'll still be short but in a good, cute, way and not unattractively.
So don't ruin your body for 2cm more that won't change anything but will cause you lot of problems.

During the whole surgery I was awake, DR bagirov did all surgery by himself as they promiss, and DR khaled tighted all the nuts, tighted the nuts is a hard job. I can hear they use all strength on every nuts. Some time I couldn't see the operation well, I will try to left my head little higher, but the female DR who sit on my side will immediately pressed my head down, it's litter funny thought, sometime she will hold my hand to warm my hands. Some time she just answer the phone for DR bagirov. Finally DR bagirov told me that the surgery is finished and he left. I asked DR khaled how's my surgery, he says everything is fine. Then they transfer me to my bed. That night I ask nurse to inject painkillers for me for every two hours. I feel little sorry for her, she always acting fast, and caring, I know Russia seems don't like smile, but she will smile to me even she could not understand what I am saying.

all of Russian seems do not like smile, but they are very nice inside. I don't know why they can't not see I am a forenger. It's the second day of my operation. The nurse injected one painkiller before I sleep. I just found laying on a bad for 24 hours is a very enjoy thing with a urinary catheter. I even don't need to go to the restroom bymyself. The food is better than I think, the emergency button is by my night stander. There's always somebody on call, I even do not bother wash my face. Haha, the internet is fast, I can watch the drama show all day. The pain is 1/10,as long as I do not pay attention on my leg, I do not feel any pain at all, I would say it's more comfortable than have a period. Some time I will faint during a strong period, sometime I just want take my sotmock out to stop the pain. so overall, the surgery pain is nothing, I may experience more pain during lengthening period, but I would take some painkiller to manage it. I am kinda live in my dream now, haha, I will concern to buy a urine catheter once I get home. Let me going down to for a while, I always hurry on time, but being waste time is a great feeling for me now.

Day 3, yesterday I tried walk more.
My back is hurt, because the over sleep.
One of the nail of my right leg is hurting me once I trying to move around.
I need to talk to my DR, I do not want to carry the pain in for a whole year.

Day 4, I wake up with no pain at all,
the surgery is not as painful as I heard before.
A couple of the pin holes are getting itchy.
I took off my blanket to let me my legs cool down.
I also met a couple girls yesterday.
One Russia have the surgery one day early than me,
I don't see anything wrong with her legs.
Her mum says because her daughter over thinked her legs.
She says she has a litter bow leg.
But it's hard to tell.
If I were her,
I would never go through this surgery just because a litter bow leg.
The second Russia girl I met just had a surgery not long time ago.
She says she had her surgery in Kurgan.
it's free, but one of her leg is straight.

auctally, I didn't take any painkiller. I really didn't feel much pain, but I do feel a lots pain in the first 12 hours after surgery. By the time the nurse will come to injected some medicine on my leg every two or three hours. Right now, only if I ask, they will injected me painkiller, but they will injected some painkiller every night before we sleep, I will ask them stop it. Because injected medicine is a little hurt.

Hello, hope you are getting better. Why you didn't do femur lengthening, because women can increase their tibia length by wearing high heel shoes. I know external femur is very risky but when I had consultation with dr Bagirov, he said that there is no risk that you can damage your muscles around femur and actually it sounds a little bit strange. Did dr Bagirov say you something different about femur lengthening before surgery

no, he only asked me how many centimeters do I want to lengthening. My tibia is kinda short though, and DR bagirov says my proportion will be OK if I add around 7 centimeters on my tibia.

One of pain site is getting super hot, It hurts so much when I try to move it. The nurse came in and gave me a anesthesia shot. She deny that the pin site has inflammation, I am kinda upset about it. I took some aspirin behind her and hope it works. Go to the restroom is impossible right now, who could use one broken leg to move to the restroom.I miss my pee bag.

Thank you, the price is $7,500 dollars for 6 days stay before new year. But they charged me 44,0000 rubles instead dollar. I figured out I overpaid around 50 dollars, which is not much. But honestly, I don't like feel comfortable with it. I ask them to give me 7 days instead 6 days which make it sounds fair for me.

Where are the doctors? Why they left you in pain and possible risks and not treat you asap?
Thats why people should not go to third world countries for major surgeries.
Doctors there seem to not care at all about you after they get their money.
I am very angry about these doctors but also responsible are patients who go to these doctors to save some money.
If you don't have enough money don't do LL. Otherwise be ready for bs like these.

I will concern Russia has a different way to threat the inflammation. And also I could get the cheapest price by other doctors, anyway DR khaled has gave me the answer already. I thought people from this forum will have a clever way to threat inflammation, but turn out with people from this forum kinda have anti-russia something like that. I can understand why a lots people stop their diaries now.

The DR says I have to do dressing with betadin and levamecol twice per day and I have to elevate my leg put it on a pillow. Anyway, DR khaled always answer me very fast, he promised me that he will responds me on WhatsApp，Facebook， and other stuff. He required me to send him a video or photo every 10 days for him to check up. Other time, I could contract him any time I want, but sometime he is in the operation room or in driving to somewhere, it will take him a little longer to answer my question. He also showed me a lots conversations with other Russia patients on WhatsApp. I would appreciate if a doctor could answer all of my questions immediately, it will going to take a couple days or weeks for me to reach a DR to answer my questions which you guys called first world. I live in united state, I know how sucks the doctors are in united state, it's not just about the price.

Hey Ghost, hope you get your pin site infection dealt with ASAP. As you may be aware, infection is not uncommon for LL, so it should be managed pretty soon. It's not that problematic as long as it's not left alone too long.

It is irresponsible to ask on a forum how to stop an infection and not your doctor. If you have a doctor that cares about his patient and ask us and not him, then it is your fault. If you don't have a good doctor then maybe you did a wrong choice of doctor.
Anyway, no antirusia feelings here but I hate doctors in third world countries who promise anything to their patients to get their money and then they leave them in God's mercy.

Anyway, you need to clean the pin sites with alcohol and then put enough betadine. If things don't get better in one day max, you should use oral antibiotics for 4-5 days to be completely sure that the infections won't spread.
That's what my doctor told me in case I had an infection when I did LL, although I never had any except some minor pin inflammations.

Day 9
I stop eating spicy food, took antibiotics medicine twice a day and dring a lots green been soup. All of my infected pin sites's temperature getting cool down and start healing just in one day. I feel big release right now, I definitely will never touch spicy food again during the whole procedure. But I got the inflammation before I ate spicy food, The green bean soup plays a big role to kill the inflammation, I would keep drinking green been soup until all my infection gone.I was so panic yesterday, 8 pin sites got infection, go to the restroom was a torture, it even hurt when I do movement on the bed.But my right leg is in a good shape, I didn't get any infection on my right leg, some time I even couldn't feel I have a frame on it. But I can feel some tension when I turn the nuts to lengthening. But it's just little uncomfortable, not a big deal though.

I am going to stay in Moscow for three week, first week in the hospital and two weeks in the airbnb house which just couple minutes away from the hospital. There are two website you can get in invitation letters. One is www.goingrus.com which change $15 dollar for one month stay. They can send the invitation letter in an hour after you pay online. Other one is www.hotel-pro.ru, you can get three months stay in russia for around $70 dollar. It depends on your nationality.

Day 10
I heard a big cracked sound on my right leg when I try to stand up from the toilet, I am kind sacred about it, it didn't hurt though, but I can feel less weight bearing on my right leg, the broken place which on fibula is litter hurt. I ask my doctor he says don't worry about it. I hope it's not a serious problem or it will get better after a few days. Does anyone has the same experience?

I have gain 7 millimeter and also got my first X-ray.My right leg is perfect straight, but my left fibula is litter misalign, the DR says it's not a problem, as long as tibia is straight, my legs are fine. I also asked one of my friend who is working in other Orthopedics hospital in Moscow and he told me the same thing. I am not sure Russia has deferent view of misaligned or I overreacting, anybody know could help me?

Yes, I applied a visa which gave me one month to stay in Russia. I wil go home after three weeks of operation, the DR will follow me up through WhatsApp. He ask me to take the x-ray every month to see if there's any adjustments needed and he will show me how to adjust to frame if there is any misalign happen. I stay in a airbnb house which is 4 minutes to walk to the clinic, the house cost me around $150 dollars for two weeks. The food cost me around $150 dollars for two weeks. The medicine cost me around $200 dollars for there month.

Thank you. I see one guy has one frame on his femur before the surgery. I don't know what's wrong with him since he could not speak any English. And I also see a lady today with one frame on her femur. Again, I don't not know what's wrong with her leg either. I think my DR is more experience on tibia.

day 16-17
Two of my infection pin sites still running liquid, Even I used antibiotic medicine, betadine and levamekol twice a day. As my muscles are stretched, the would continue getting bigger. It's really frustrating. I remember a couple days ago, an old Chinese DR told me that I can cure the would very fast by apply some sugar on the would, by the time I was doubt what he told me. I didn't ask my DR about use sugar, I guess he would call me crazy. Anyway, after I did some research on google and found that white sugar has a special effect on long-term unwound healing. Wow, that's a great news. I started to apply some sugar on the biggest pin site would with a clean gauze. This morning I the would grows some new flesh. It's exciting, but I would continue observe until my would completely heal then I will post some pictures.

Day 28
I have gain 2 centimeters, the pain starts getting better once passed 1 centimeters. I But I didn't feel much taller, I am still shorty. I fellow my sheet and slow down to 0.75 milimeter per day. Once I cured the infections, pain is bearlley noticeable. But my right knee start acting like an old machine after a long time flight. It feels so heave, once I bent my right knee just for a couple minutes, it will give me a hard time to straight off. And also I could feel my right feet is numbness all of time, I did some exercise every day,give my knees and feet some message everyday, but it didn't work much. My doctor ask me to buy some muscle relax cream something.I will try to get it soon, hope it will work, I am litter scared, God bless me!

After RGkey's story anyone who still goes there is responsible for the problems he'll have.
I wish you the best and no, LL is very important to many of us so what you say about 1.40 and LL is non sense, but after all the diaries we had here about bad cases in Rusia I think you should have avoided that place at all costs.
But with a good doctor almost anything can be fixed. So stay positive!
