Title: Payment methods for surgery
Post by: Nobody on September 27, 2017, 08:01:34 PM
Hello guys,
I'm hoping to get LL in a very close future, and to those who have gone through the surgery,
I was wondering what payment method you guys used to pay for the massive sum of money for the operation

Did you guys pay using traveller's cheque, bank card, or transfer of funds via bank?

Thanks in advance for the help

As far as I've read, wire transfer is the way.

Whichever payment method you use, they're not going to touch your legs before the full amount has been received, so I doubt they'd accept checks.
I think I've read somewhere that even credit cards aren't allowed to be used.

Obviously this depends on the doctor. Do some Googling for <doctor name payment>.

I think I've read somewhere that even credit cards aren't allowed to be used.

Paley for example is pretty strict (http://www.paleyinstitute.org/centers-of-excellence/stature-lengthening-center/costs-financial-considerations):

Quote
Full payment is due two weeks before surgery or the surgery will be cancelled. Payment can be made by wire transfer or certified check but not by credit card. A non-refundable deposit of $10,000 is due at least two months before surgery. The deposit can be made by credit card on the phone or by wire transfer. We will not hold a surgery date for more than 3 days without a deposit. Cancellation or change of surgery date by the patient or their family with less than two months’ notice results in loss of the deposit.
