Title: Ex fix healing indices (or ex fix indices)
Post by: ItsMyLife on March 06, 2015, 06:52:01 AM
Hello!

Lets share some links.. time required for a pure ex-fix on tibia/femurs:
http://www.hkmj.org/system/files/hkm0908p280.pdf

It seems that The average time in the frame was 8 months (4-
14 months) and the average healing index was 48 days
per cm of lengthening (18-110 days per cm), which
was faster in younger subjects.

Heres a sampling of how vast the time removal periods are:
m 14 year old , 3.6 cm took 10-11 months
f 39 yo, , 6.5 cm took 10 months

Im doing 8 cm, so I should be taking about 12 months based on the female 39 year old healing indices! which is true, I am due for frame removal in December.... based on my x-rays:)
